Petrol Hike: PPPRA Removes Increment Template From Website

Having set the country on fire through the sudden hike in pump price, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) has deleted the pricing template from its website.

The deletion came hours after the agency published the template on its website,, and after the Nigerian National, Petroleum Corporation insisted that there was no increment in the ex-depot price of petrol.

The template had said the recommended retail price is between N209.61 and N212.61 per litre. The landing cost of petrol was put at N189.61.

But will the delete from its website change the hike in pump price as many filling stations have stopped selling after the template was released?

The ex-depot price, which is the rate marketers get the product, was fixed at N206.42.

Recall that few hours after the increment was announced, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) denied knowledge of it, maintaining there would be no increment in March.
The statement by NNPC also suggested that there will be an increment from April. Again, will filling stations sell their fuel having gotten the wind of a possible increment from April?
The PPPRA website where the increment template was published has since indicated an error “Page not found (404)” when visited.
