Lagos Assembly Approves 22 Sanwo-Olu Nominees, Disapproves 17 in Latest Confirmation Round

On Wednesday, the Lagos State House of Assembly approved 22 of the 39 cabinet nominations that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had sent for consideration.

The confirmation came after a thorough and thorough vetting of the nominations by an ad hoc committee headed by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Fatai Mojeed, who presided over the day’s sitting, according to Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

He praised the committee’s efficiency and reminded the confirmed nominees to never forget that their first responsibility in their positions is to the State’s citizens, not to themselves.

He also promised that the House would continue to do its best in the interest of the State.

The confirmation was done through a voice vote as Dr. Obasa mentioned the name of each of the nominees.

However, the lawmakers rejected 17 of the nominees.

Mr. Gbenga Oyerinde
Dr. Adekunle Olayinka
