Airline Operators Records Low Passengers Traffic As Airports Resume

By MARY KUYE

Investigations to the Nigerian airports especially Lagos and Abuja route on Wednesday revealed that airlines operators recorded low passenger traffic as flight operations resumed.

Airline operators like Arik Air, Air Peace, Max Air and Ibom Air operated scheduled flights on the Lagos / Abuja routes from the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA1) as well as Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) in Lagos.

Amid low passenger traffic, Arik Air and Air Peace operated flights from the GAT while Max Air and Ibom Air operated from the MMA2.

It was observed that the Aviation Security Personnel attached to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were very strict in adhering to the health and safety protocols and guidelines prescribed for travel.

Passengers were apparently subjected to body temperature checks, washing of hands, luggage disinfecting and social distancing before they were granted access to the terminal building.
