BY SEYIFUNMI LUMEKO

The first resumption day at the Lagos State University, LASU was on Monday greeted by a shutdown from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities

The aforementioned basic unions at LASU practically denied the 300 Level students, final year students and the Vice-Chancellor Professor Olanrewaju Fagboun entrance into the university premises.

Comrade Oseni Saheed, the LASU SSANU Chairman, said that workers are protesting the non-implementation of the minimum wage among other issues.

He said: “We have shut down the school because of non-implementation of the minimum wage, among other issues like the Consequential Adjustment which has been on for close to two years.
