At a town hall meeting hosted by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, the presidential candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alh. Atiku Abubakar; and Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, are expected to discuss their plans and programmes for education in Nigeria (NAPPS).
The New Nigerian Peoples Party’s (NNPP) presidential flagbearer, Alh. Rabiu Kwankwaso, was also invited to participate in an interaction at the town hall meeting, which is one of the events planned for the NAPPS annual international conference and exhibition, which is scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 1 in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The Association has written invitation letters to the four presidential candidates, Chief Yomi Otubela, National President of NAPPS, revealed this to newsmen on Wednesday, saying that the committee in charge is diligently working to check their availability.

The presidential candidates, according to Otubela, are not coming for a debate but rather to interact with private school owners and providers of related services in order to expose their intended educational programmes and policies.
Malam Adamu Adamu, the minister of education, is scheduled to give the keynote address at the conference with the theme “Revamping Africa’s Education for Sustainable Development: Private Education Perspective,” and Engr Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo state, will serve as the Special Guest of Honor and host governor.
According to Otubela, the conference will give the association a platform to host a wave of attendees, including school owners from different states in Nigeria and from abroad. Also attending will be invited parents, private- and public-school teachers, government dignitaries, multinational corporations, foreign partners, exhibitors, and a variety of stakeholders.
The conference and exhibition will also include a number of programmes, such as master classes for school administrators, teachers, and other professionals in the education field; public lectures from learned speakers; exhibits of goods and services from small- and large-scale businesses; award ceremonies for distinguished members of the society and the association; and policy decisions that will positively affect education, among other things.
