Azurfa One of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack victims, Lois John, who was held captive for 191 days, claims that a terrorist commander wanted to marry her while she was a hostage.
John was due to be married off, according to Malam Tukur Mamu, who mediated between the terrorists and allowed the release of several passengers.
On her hospital bed, John, who was one of the final 23 passengers released last Wednesday, revealed the information.
She claimed to have forgotten about the terrorists.
Yes, it is true that one of the terrorist commanders chose me and made a marriage proposal, but it was only an offer, and I turned it down. They don’t press people after you reject them. The terrorists did not only propose to marry me. Simply put, they would say, “I want to marry you, I want to keep you, and I want you to change your religion and become a member of mine.” So, it is up to you to decide whether to accept or refuse,” she replied when asked if the terrorists intended to propose to her.
Azurfa said that she had no idea that she would one day be set free from captivity from the very beginning.

“I was simply praising God while awaiting the day I would leave the camp. We were been told to begin packing by the terrorists who had just arrived. I never anticipated coming out,” she remarked.
Terrorists placed explosive devices along the rail route on March 28, 2022, and as the Abuja-Kaduna passenger train AK-9 approached the spot, one of the bombs detonated, forcing the train to derail and killing eight passengers.
Up until the final group of 23 hostages, all 65 hostages abducted by the terrorists had been freed in segments.
