Can VDM Be Right?: Bobrisky Pleads for N3m to Secure VIP Prison Section – Falz Speaks Out

By LEVI JOHNSON

In a recent revelation, renowned Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, known as Falz, disclosed his interactions with controversial social media figure Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, regarding the legal challenges Bobrisky faced earlier this year.

Falz confirmed that Bobrisky approached him for a sum of N3 million to secure a VIP section at the Correctional Centre. This statement follows a letter from Falz’s legal team, Falana & Falana Chambers, which demanded a retraction from Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, for defamatory remarks made against Falz.

Recall that VDM alleged that Bobrsiky did not serve his supposed six-month prison term and shared a call recording where the crossdresser detailed all that transpired.

The letter, dated September 26, 2024, pointed out that a post by VeryDarkMan implied Falz had colluded with Bobrisky to “pervert the course of justice” by providing financial support for a favorable legal outcome.

Falz’s lawyer, Taiwo E. Olawanle, detailed the timeline, stating that while Bobrisky did seek Falz’s advice, the rapper firmly declined any financial assistance, emphasizing that no payments were necessary.

The letter stated, “Your publication of September 25, 2024, on your Instagram page has drawn our attention. In it, you made several defamatory statements against our client. To clarify, our client never initiated contact with Mr. Idris Okuneye; rather, Mr. Okuneye reached out to our client.”

The correspondence noted that on May 4, 2024, Bobrisky requested a call with Falz, who, believing he might need legal guidance, agreed. However, during the call, Bobrisky expressed distress and requested N3 million to pay officials for a VIP accommodation at the Correctional Centre.

Falz advised against the payment, reiterating that there was no need for such actions. Despite this, Bobrisky insisted on his request for financial help, which Falz continued to refuse.

The letter also condemned the publication for making unfounded allegations, including insinuations of a homosexual affair and attempts to gain presidential pardon for Bobrisky.

Falana & Falana Chambers demanded an immediate retraction and a public apology across all platforms where the accusations were made, warning that failure to comply within 24 hours could lead to legal action for defamation and monetary damages.

Additionally, a viral video from VeryDarkMan featured Bobrisky alleging that unnamed EFCC officers collected N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges. Bobrisky has since denied these bribery claims, prompting the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, to order an immediate investigation into the allegations.
