I’ll Encourage Harmony, Tinubu Assures Nigerians

Bola Tinubu, the next president, has vowed to uphold equity and encourage unity in Nigeria.

At the Thursday opening of the Magistrates’ Court Complex in Port Harcourt, which was constructed by the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike, Tinubu made the pledge.

He complimented his host on the building and said that the governor’s actions were a means of preventing corruption by providing the judges with more comfort.

Bola Tinubu said, “I think tackling corruption needs a different approach than what Wike has done here today. This is how one combats corruption. You don’t anticipate your judges, and you have made excellent contributions to this.

“You don’t expect your judges to work in squalor, live there, or administer justice there. This is a component of the adjustments that our policy think-tank needs to make.

“We need to fight corruption, but we also need to consider the other side of the story. You must be concerned for the welfare of your judges if you don’t want them to be crooked.

“You shouldn’t want them to work in dangerous conditions if you want the administration of justice to be fair. Think about value for value. If you ask me to pay N5 million or N6 million upfront for the car I urgently required but don’t have credit for, you’re tempting corruption.

“However, having consumer credit will lessen your propensity to corruption. We don’t want our judges to interfere with justice or act improperly.

“Don’t just read the books; take action. We will examine each of these in our policy think tank, I assure you of that.

‘Reasons Bola Tinubu Can Never Be Nigeria’s President’

How I recruited Tinubu to the PDP – Wike

Bola Tinubu claimed that his trip to the region fulfilled a promise he made to the people of the state during his campaign. He also promised to keep any other commitments he has made to Nigerians after taking office.

“And that is what I want to do with regard to all upcoming policy creations. The nation’s unity is unassailable, I assure Nigerians.

That is what Nyesom Wike and I are working together to promote. He complimented the magistrates on having a building erected for them and vowed to treat everyone fairly. He also asked them to make sure the building is maintained as the governor had instructed.

“I leave it in your hands, magistrates. It is in your hands to turn it over to the judiciary. God grants you the desire and dedication to bring justice to our society. The reform is progressing. I’m hoping you’ll work with me, Tinubu said.
