Tinubu’s Shocking Promise To Tackle Corruption- PDP

Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, was reprimanded by the Peoples Democratic Party for saying in Port Harcourt that his administration will be tough on corruption, especially in the public sector, calling it “an assault on the sensibility of Nigerians.”

Bola Tinubu made the commitment in Port Harcourt on the Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike’s invitation to launch various projects

The PDP responded to the statement by claiming that the President-elect lacked the necessary expertise to speak on the subject of corruption through Debo Ologunagba, who serves as the party’s national publicity secretary.

“It is ludicrous that an individual who has been widely accused of being an enabler and beneficiary of corruption can attempt to put himself forward to Nigerians as a champion of anti-corruption,” Ologunagba said in a statement to journalists at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. Corruption, of course, cannot defeat Corruption.

I’ll Keep The Unity Of This Nation- Tinubu

“The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently asserted that he will battle corruption in the nation during the commissioning of several judiciary projects in Rivers State. The PDP and, in fact, all sane Nigerians are concerned, scandalized, and embarrassed by this remark.

Given Senator Tinubu’s history of suspected corruption and how numerous people have branded him as the epitome of corruption, this comment by him is totally sacrilegious and an assault on Nigerians’ sensibilities.

“It is well known that Senator Tinubu encouraged and institutionalized corruption as a form of government while serving as governor of Lagos State. It is known that Senator Tinubu is thought to have been a key player in the infamous Alpha Beta Consulting cases.

In particular, in the ongoing petition before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, the party warned the court to be mindful of attempts “by the APC and its presidential candidate to patronize them in the course of the discharge of their constitutional duties as an impartial arbiter.”
