How “Drunk” Soldier Killed A General In A Lagos Barracks

Brigadier-General Audu Ogbole James, the Director of Finance at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), located in Oshodi, Lagos, has passed away.
The General was crushed to death at the barracks on Tuesday night by a corporal by the name of Abayomi Edun.
According to reports, the corporal struck the victim as he was crossing the street toward his home in an SUV with the licence plate EKY 177 FX.
It was reported that Edun was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred.
It was reported that the deceased was transported to the NAFRC Medical Centre, where a doctor declared him dead.

James’ team at Kuru’s National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies called the loss stunning in a statement.
The Monitor General SEC 40 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Brig Gen AO JAMES, mni, just left. He is our tireless, humble, pleasant bridge builder. In Lagos, yesterday (15/11/22) evening, he was knocked down on the road and died as a result of his injuries.
“May God grant peace to his soul. We send our condolences to the SEC 40 family and AANI in particular. May the Lord comfort everyone and give them the strength to endure this irreplaceable loss. It was written in the statement by ACM Kayode Olagunju, “So sad.”
On the NARFC website, the deceased’s profile states that the General held first- and second-degree credentials in accounting and finance.
Brigadier-General Audu Ogbole James belonged to the Chartered Institute of Taxation (ACTI), the National Institute of Management (NIM), the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Nigerian Institute of Directors (MIoD), and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) (mni).

  • Pass Staff College (PSC)
