The Senior Special Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari on Social Media Mrs. Lauretta Onochie has reacted to the recent news released by the popular messenger application owned by Facebook, WhatsApp.

It’s release has it that many outdated smart phones won’t be able to access WhatsApp on them. The move is to ensure the security of its users.

But Mrs. Onochie reacted differently to this accusing Nigerians of having the money to buy posh modern phones, and still shout that there is hunger in the land.

She made this statement on her Twitter handle after she noticed that most developed countries like Europe, US, Mexico and South America are affected.

Meaning that citizens in deve loped countries where standard of living is good still use old phones but in Nigeria, people buy the latest smartphones and still complain of hunger.

“WHATSAPP TO STOP WORKING ON MILLIONS OF out of date PHONES.

Reports showed outages already, on Tuesday, across EUROPE, US, MEXICO & SOUTH AMERICA.

Me:: It Can’t happen in Nigeria. We invest in posh modern phones, and shout hunger in the land.

#SaiNigeria”

The Facebook company stated that its support for such phones will end on February 1, 2020.
