Four New Cases Of Coronavirus Recorded In Ekiti State

Four new cases of coronavirus has been recorded in Ekiti, bringing to 29 the number of confirmed cases in the state.

Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, who made this known on Monday in Ado-Ekiti while briefing newsmen, revealed the new cases comprised two health workers, a patient and a returnee who sneaked into the state from Lagos.

Yaya-Kolade said most of the patients have underlying health issues, assuring that strict observation has already been emplacing at the state’s isolation centre to monitor them.

She noted the new cases were not as a result of community spread, adding that the government was doing everything possible within its capacity to prevent community spread of the virus.

The Commissioner urged the people to always put on facemask in public, ensure social distancing and prevent activities to could endanger their health.

The Coordinator, Ekiti Taskforce on COVID 19, Professor Bolaji Aluko, emphasised that wearing of a facemask was very essential before anyone could go to public places, adding that stringent steps would be taken against anyone caught in public places without a facemask.
