Fulani and Miyetti Allah Send Power Message To Tinubu

The Fulani Community Nationwide, a socio-cultural organisation, has urged President-elect Bola Tinubu to consult with its members at the grassroots level in order to address the country’s recurring clashes between herders and farmers.

The group’s Chairman, Alhaji Ya’u Haruna-Malammadori, made this call during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Monday. Haruna-Malammadori expressed the community’s delight and support for Tinubu’s victory in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The group, however, expressed concern that their community has been labelled as troublemakers and urged the President-elect to consult with them directly on issues affecting them, rather than relying on people at the top who do not understand their problems.

The community stressed the importance of mutual trust and understanding between herders and farmers and proposed the establishment of a ministry of livestock, similar to what is obtainable in other countries like the Niger Republic, to handle all issues concerning livestock rearing or breeding.

The group also called on Tinubu to appoint some former governors as ambassadors of the country outside Nigeria, claiming that most ex-governors are intruders who cause problems in their states and try to control the new governors. Therefore, they believe that posting them outside the country would be beneficial.
