Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida University, Niger State’s (IBBU) Lapai, has increased the school fees payable by all categories of its undergraduate students.
The Students Union Government, SUG of IBBU has equally vowed that its students would not pay the new fees.
The new template came almost two academic sessions after a previous exercise. And it is also coming a few days to the institution’s 3rd combined convocation ceremony.
Under the new arrangement, fresh indigenous students are to pay N55,300 while non-indigene counterparts were to pay N96,300. And their foreign counterparts will pay N137,500.
The returning indigenous students will pay N32,500 while non-indigene counterparts will N65,500. And the foreign students were now to pay N108,000.
But in a swift reaction, the institution’s Students Union Government (SUG) has urged students to disregard the increment.
Comrade Bello Ibrahim, the SUG’s Secretary-General, told newsmen, Monday in Niger State that students would not pay the new fees.

Bello said: “We hereby direct all students both new, returning, indigenes and non-indigenes to disregard the circular.
Prof Mohammad Maiturare, the Vice-Chancellor of IBBUL, on Monday said that 23 students would graduate with first-class.
He said 700 students will also graduate with Second Class Upper. And while 1,999 will graduate with Second Class Lower, 470 will graduate in 3rd Class and 29 with a pass.
