JAMB to Candidates: Delays In Your Mock Exam Caused By CBT Centres Operators

Contrary to insinuation from many quarters that the JAMB server has issues with login and logout, JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin told Credible News that the centres are to be blamed because they did not start the mock examination as scheduled and programmed by the server.

Credible News reports that in many CBT centres today (Thursday), as monitored by its correspondent in Lagos, candidates whose examinations were slated for 7 am were rescheduled for 2 pm.

For example, the CBT centre situated at Ebute Igbogbo, 11-30 centre kept the candidates who arrived at the venue as earlier as 6:30 am in the examination without access to the mock examination for three hours before telling them that their examination was rescheduled for 2 pm.

The CBT centre created an impression before the students and parents waiting outside the exam hall to pick up their children that the JAMB server was the issue. Whereas the centre was the real causative agent to the delays in the mock examination experienced by the candidates. You can read more of such stories at Credible News.

JAMB Reveals Students Who Will Rewrite UTME

Dr Fabian Benjamin who spoke with our correspondent told Credible News that the centres are to be blamed because they did not start the mock examination as scheduled and programmed by the server.

Benjamin said: ” The JAMB server has been programmed so that if a centre is to commence an examination at 8 am if it fails to start at that time, the server will automatically log out of that centre. “The candidates in such centres will be able to rewrite the examination when it is rescheduled for another time.”

“JAMB is trying to guide against the usual occurrence in the past JAMB examination where many UTME centres started on different time and closed on different time.

“Therefore the operators of the UTME centre are to be blamed for not starting the mock examination on the scheduled time at the server.

“Each CBT centre has maximum of an hour to prepare its candidates for the examination and that is why candidates were told to be at the venue at 7am for an examination that is to start at 8am. At dote 8am the server opens for the examination and closes at 10:30am. If the centre was not ready at 8am, the server automatically logout that examination period. That was what affected those who could not write the mock examination scheduled for 7am today.”

Many parents who came with their children from the Ikoyi axis of Lagos State and Ogun states to write the mock examination in Ikorodu were disappointed when the examination earlier slated for 7 am was rescheduled for 2 pm. They told our correspondent that 2 pm was a long hour to hang around in a place where no seat is provided for parents.
