Lawmaker Reveals Reasons He Sponsors 100 Students to Varsity in Benin Republic

Honourable Igbalaye Ayodele, Ogun House of Assembly lawmaker representing Abeokuta South Constituency II, has revealed the reasons he’s sponsoring one hundred students from his constituency on scholarship to a university in the Republic of Benin.

The lawmaker stated that his vision and mission for sponsoring students to a university in the Republic of Beninare is to promote community harmony and raise educational standards through supporting academic excellence.

Ayodele said that his attempts to further encourage education among the state’s young included providing scholarships for his constituents to attend ESTG University in the Republic of Benin.

The recipients of the scholarship were chosen after clearing the most recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Test, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the lawmaker’s media adviser, Adeyemi Obadimu.

The congressman stated that his vision and mission are to promote community harmony and raise educational standards by supporting academic excellence.

His words: “As we all know, no better gift could be given to our children than a quality education. Education is a powerful driver of development and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty, gender equality, peace, and stability.

“You will recall that the scholarship scheme started six years ago with 50 students, but increased to 100 students this year, selecting the beneficiaries from all the public secondary schools in Abeokuta South.

“Over 300 students have benefited from the scheme. This is even, as I intend to increase the number of beneficiaries in the coming years Especially among secondary school students who want to gain admission into the university.”
