LNSC Will Feed Amotekun With Information, Says Lagos Deputy Governor

Lagos State has said that the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) would be drafted into the security outfit, Amotekun Corps.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos, Mr Obafemi Hamzat who disclosed this said that LNSC would feed Amotekun with information.

Hamzat, in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), assured the people that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would sign the bill to establish the Amotekun Corps into law.

He noted that the Amotekun Corps was established to boost security, especially on major highways and border communities.

“Yes, we will sign the bill. The design of Amotekun is for us to patrol our borders with neighbouring Ogun. So, if you are a criminal trying to run from Ogun to Lagos or vice versa, Amotekun is there to chop you off; that is the essence.” he said.

The deputy governor said the government had the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), a complimentary community policing outfit before the idea of Amotekun came up.

According to him, the bill establishing the LNSC was sent to other Southwest states to enrich the formation of their respective Amotekun corps.
