Nigerian Health Workers Vow To Proceed On Strike September 13

BY SEYIFUNMI LUMEKO

Health Workers have on Monday vowed to proceed on strike September 13 if the Federal Government fails to grant their demands.

The Health Workers are under the aegis of Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Health Care Professionals, JOHESU.

The health workers, therefore, tasked the Federal Government to remove the negotiation from the substantive Minister Senator Chris Ngige and give it to Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN.

They expressed displeasure over the way Senator Ngige has been handling the negotiation with the Federal Government.

JOHESU, the National Chairman, Comrade Bio Joy Josiah, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja on Monday.

He explained that the commitment of JOHESU was to resolve issues through dialogue, lamenting that the government has been taken the union for granted.

According to him, the government looks at the health workers as people who cannot bear hunger.
