Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Timi Frank has revealed plans for protest in September.
He said Nigerians in Diaspora will stage apolitical protest against President Muhammadu Buhari during September United Nations General Assembly, New-York.
Political prisoners in Nigeria listed
Frank made this statement to newsmen in Abuja. He said, “the current administration does not practice democracy and as such does not allow protest in Nigeria”.
Frank said the protest was aimed at demanding the immediate release of all political prisoners under the APC’s administration. ”Chibok girls, Leah Sharibu, Omoyele Sowore, Sambo Dasuki and Ibrahim El Zazaky are all political prisoners, Frank said.
Comrade Frank said Nigerians will also be protesting to put a stop on killings by Fulani herdsmen. ”The protest will also seek to address the disrespect for rule of law and stop human rights abuses.
Nigerians need adequate security. We want to ensure that government stops interfering, harassing and intimidating the Nigerian judiciary,” Frank said.
We want Nigerian Service Chiefs ban from U.S
Other objectives of the protest are to put a stop to nepotism in the country. We want the United States to include the Chief of Army Staff and other Service Chiefs in the Visa ban.
”We urge all Nigerians in diaspora to come out and protest at the UN General Assembly in New York. This will make Buhari understand that Nigeria belongs to all of us. This protest is to save Nigeria from further destruction by Buhari whose sole aim is to Islamise Nigeria,” Frank said.
