No To Rule Of Law Violation: It Can Be Anyone Tomorrow – NANS

Authorities of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS  have said, no to rule of law violation, adding that what happened to Mr Omoyele Sowore in the court yesterday, if left unchecked, it could also happen to anyone. ”It is Omoyele today, it can be me, you or anyone tomorrow,” NANS said.

In a release sent to The Cheer Saturday, Comrade Danielson Akpan, the Global President of NANS said: ”After seeing what happened at the court yesterday, with the video that has gone viral on social media, we’re left with no option other than to come out and save this country.”

Akpan said, NANS believes there is no organ or institution, whether of the state or not that has the power to disregard the order of court of law and the rule of law.

According to to him, every citizen can only be fairly protected by the law and the judiciary.

Comrade  Akpan explained: “Since the arrest and eventual arraignment of Omoyele Sowore, NANS like most civil societies talked less about it.

“This was simply because we all wanted the rule of law to prevail.

“After seeing what happened at the court yesterday, with the video that has gone viral on social media, we’re left with no option other than to come out and save this country.

”It is Omoyele today, it can be me, you or anyone tomorrow.

”Since after I made my earlier post, I’ve received calls, messages from the comrades community and the public.

”Some commended me while some advised me to stare clear of the matter because of the interest of government and the security.

”While I appreciate everyone who reached out to me, I want to caution those who called and referred to the revolution now, please don’t call or message me about revolution now.

”My conviction in getting involved is basically to promote the rule of law, which as an activist I stand to defend.

”And as the President of the NANS, it is my responsibility to, as posterity will not be fair to me if I fail in this regard.

” NANS was neither consulted nor involved in the revolution now movement, and for this reason, NANS under my leadership will “never” as we do not know the intent of the convener.

”The NANS is a convergence of intellectuals and cannot take part in what she knows nothing about.

”I believe that there is no organ or institution, whether of the state or not have the power to disregard the order of court of law and the rule of law.

”Everyone citizen can only be fairly protected by the law and the judiciary. NANS is pro the people, and the voice of men is the voice of God.”
