Osinbajo Should Not Resign, Let’s See Their Action, Then We’ll Act -Akintoye

Yoruba leaders have said whatever negative thing that happens to their son, Osinbajo politically is an affront to Yoruba race. According to them, this is regardless of his political affiliation.

Those on this crusade are Professor Banji Akintoye, Pan-Yoruba sociopolitical organisation, Afenifere; Yoruba Council of Elders, YCE and Chief Olu Falae.

Others in the same voice are Afenifere chieftain, Pa Ayo Adebanjo; Chief Olusola Ebiseni and Chief Biodun Fasae.

Others who are not pleased with Presidents Buhari treatment of Osinbajo are Southwest Publicity Secretary of PDP, Ayo Fadaka.

Senator Francis Fadahunsi and Comrade Moshood Erubami also lent their voices to condemned the sack of Osinbajo 35 staff.

35 sacked Staff confirms plot to disgrace Osinbajo

The Yoruba leaders said recent developments confirmed that there is a plot to disgrace Osinbajo.

Speaking on the issue, Akintoye warned that the Yoruba would not allow the Vice President to be degraded or dehumanised.

”Those strange things happen to people like Osinbajo and other non-Fulani people serving in this government are important

”We are watching events unfold with keen interest. We are taking note of what is happening to them.

“Nobody should make the mistake of thinking that the Yoruba will be watching and allow their sons to be degraded.

”It will be very difficult to advise Osinbajo because he holds a high position. But my advice to him is to stick in there. And let us see what they will do, then, they will see what we will do,” Akintoye said.

We told Osinbajo and Tinubu to leave APC

For Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the Afenifere leader wants Osinbajo and Tinubu to leave All Progressive Party, APC .

Adebanjo said: “I don’t want to be dragged into the issue. What has he (Osinbajo) done that the Southwest has benefited from?

I am 91 years old, all I want is for a better Nigeria. I have told Osinbajo and Tinubu to leave the APC.”

On his part, Afenifere Spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin, said: “It is to humiliate the Vice President, not the Southwest.

”Osinbajo has never supported the Southwest since he became the Vice President. The way we wouldn’t have been happy if it happens to other tribe, the same way to Osinbajo.

Our indignation is at what they are daily serving Osinbajo without any explanation.

Moreover, a group, Nigerian Youths Alliance (NIYA) has on Saturday decried the sack of 35 Presidential aides attached to Osinbajo.

NIYA Chairman, Akinsiji Ololade and Secretary, Adamu Tahir said the sack of the 35 staff targetted at the youth.

35 sacked staff never commit any offence -NIYA

”The Presidency has not hinted that the sacked aides committed any specific offences. It is, therefore, safe to say the young men and women were relieved of their job because of President Buhari. President Buhari became President at a young age of 40.

“To sack 35 youths at once is nothing but a direct assault against youth population.

“We demand that every Nigerian youth should know that the future belongs to us, and not octogenarians. Therefore, we have to see this sack beyond a few young people losing their jobs.

”It is clearly a battle against youth political inclusion. And every young person will do well to rise in defence of our collective political destiny.

“The sack happened at a time when youths across Nigeria are beginning to celebrate the gains of the,’#NotTooYoungToRun’ campaign.

”The youths of Nigeria are no doubt beginning to make significant inroads into the politics and governance of Nigeria. And this sack without any justification is a deliberate scheme to thwart the progress we’ve made so far.

“All pro-youth groups must, therefore, rise up now to defend our future from a small clique of the old generation.
