Police Begin Search For 5 School Girls, Teacher, Security In Niger

The Nigeria Police Force has swung into action in the search for the five schoolgirls, teacher and a security kidnapped by gunmen at Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State.

The boarding school students of Tulare Academy School Maruba were kidnapped in their school alongside their teacher and the security man on 28 February.

Being a private boarding school without a perimeter fence located in a remote area of Mariga, the bandits were said to have taken that advantage and wreaked havoc at their unsuspected hour.

Meanwhile, the Niger State Police Commissioner, Alhaji Adamu Usman has vowed to rescue the six girls, teacher and the security unhurt.

He said he has deployed security agencies to the school, adding that a special technical squad and armed anti-kidnapping squad are presently on the ground to identify the area and rescue the victims.
