Police Reassure FCT Residents Of Peaceful Holiday Celebration Regarding Security

Prior to the yearly anticipated festival, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command assured citizens of a calm celebration and deployed tens of thousands of troops and material resources around the Territory.
The deployment is notably characterized by strengthened police-community relationships with regard to intelligence gathering, stop and search, raids on hotspots driven by intelligence, visibility policing at all points of social convergence, highway and border patrol, aggressive vehicular/foot patrol, and surveillance, inter-agency cooperation, and various other things.
The proactive deployment, which entails the use of all intelligence and tactical resources available to the command and is anchored by inter-agency cooperation, according to FCT police spokesperson DSP Josephine Adeh, is necessary to ensure that crime and criminality in all of its manifestations and dynamics are swiftly put down.
In light of the above, the FCT commissioner of police, CP Babaji Sunday, issued a statement assuring the public of the command’s unshakable dedication to making sure that people may rest easy during the holiday season and beyond.
Meanwhile, the CP briefed senior officers from all the command units and formations about the operation order and urged the officers to make sure that no detail was overlooked while carrying out their tasks in accordance with universally accepted ethical standards.
As vigilance is maintained and reports of suspicious activities are to be made to the police through the following command emergency response lines: numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883, while the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) desk, could be reached at 0902 222 2352.
