Senate Set to Pass Budget November 28

Lawan said: “All the committees have done their work so well within the defined parameters and therefore we expect the Appropriations Committee to galvanise into action and produce the report to be laid here on the 26th November next two weeks before the Senate.

“I believe this will be the same thing in our sister chamber, the House of Representatives, so that we are able to pass the 2020 Appropriation Bill on the 28th of November.

President Muhammadu Buhari on October 8, 2019 presented a N10.33trillion 2020 budget estimates to a joint session of the National Assembly.

The two chambers had immediately swung into action by debating the general principles of the proposal after they referred it to its appropriate committees to enable Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to defend their allocations.

National Assembly committees are presently defending their reports before the Appropriation Committees.
