Gbajamila- I Regret Supporting Tambuwal For Speaker.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has expressed sorrow for convening a forum that advocated for Aminu Tambuwal’s election as Speaker of the House in the 7th National Assembly.
Tambuwal is the outgoing Governor of Sokoto State.
“I regret it,” Gbajabiamila said, recalling earlier attempts by speakership contenders to challenge their respective parties’ chosen nominees.

The Speaker addressed during a meeting of the Joint Task – 10th Assembly, a coalition of members-elect of the All Progressives Congress and opposition parties in the upcoming 10th National Assembly, in Abuja on Wednesday night.
The coalition had endorsed the APC’s nominees for Speaker and Deputy Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, and Benjamin Kalu, for the 10th House.
Before Gbajabiamila spoke, the APC candidate for Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, escorted the Speaker into the venue, made a brief statement, and then left.
The meeting is still taking place at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
