U.S. Airstrikes Wipe Out Senior ISIS Leader in Somalia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. military has successfully eliminated a top ISIS attack planner and several of his recruited fighters in Somalia, President Donald Trump announced.

“This morning, I ordered precise military airstrikes on a high-ranking IS attack planner and other terrorists he recruited and led in Somalia,” Trump posted on social media. “These killers we found hiding in caves threatened the United States and our allies.”

Strategic Strike Leaves No Civilian Casualties

The drone strikes specifically targeted ISIS militants hiding in caves within the Golis mountain range in northern Somalia. Reports confirm multiple terrorist casualties, with no civilian injuries recorded.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth underscored the importance of the operation:

“This action reduces the ability of ISIS to plot and execute terrorist attacks that threaten U.S. citizens, our partners, and innocent civilians.”

Strengthening Global Counterterrorism Efforts

This latest operation is part of the U.S. military’s ongoing strategy to dismantle ISIS networks in East Africa and prevent future terrorist threats. Officials emphasize that targeted airstrikes play a crucial role in securing both regional and global stability.
