In preparation for the 2026 UTME/Direct Entry (DE) registration, the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) engaged CBT centre administrators in a strategic session aimed at reinforcing integrity, professionalism, and compliance during the nationwide exercise.

The interactive meeting took place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, under the leadership of the Zonal Director, Mrs. Temitope Akintola, and brought together both existing and newly accredited CBT centres across the zone.

Lessons from 2025 UTME Registration

Mrs. Akintola used the platform to review lessons from the 2025 UTME registration, describing them as a critical benchmark to guide the 2026 exercise.

She urged centre owners to leverage these insights to enhance operational efficiency, candidate experience, and examination integrity, while strictly adhering to JAMB’s guidelines.

Key Guidelines and Innovations

During the session, key officers of the Zonal Office briefed attendees on:

Sensitive nature of registration and examination exercises

2026 UTME registration guidelines

Roles and responsibilities of CBT centres

Security measures for examination officials

JAMB ICT infrastructure and data privacy compliance under NDPA 2023

Support channels and open-door policy for complaints and guidance

The presentations emphasized dual-screen setups for registration, continuous staff training, ethical conduct, and zero tolerance for group or improper registration practices.

Emphasis on Integrity and Professionalism

Mrs. Akintola urged centre operators to embody the Board’s values of integrity and professionalism, warning that infractions would attract sanctions.

She highlighted that maintaining a level playing field and safeguarding candidate data are non-negotiable aspects of the registration process.

CBT Centre Administrators Pledge Compliance

In their responses, the CBT centre administrators committed to delivering a smooth and credible registration exercise that reflects JAMB’s values.

They assured the Board of full cooperation, timely reporting, and strict adherence to guidelines, reinforcing their role as critical partners in executing a successful 2026 UTME/DE registration.

Strengthening JAMB’s National Registration Standards

The session underscored the Board’s dedication to standardizing registration procedures, preventing malpractices, and fostering public confidence in national examinations.

By equipping CBT centre administrators with detailed operational instructions and ethical guidance, JAMB aims to ensure transparent, fair, and efficient registration for all candidates across Nigeria.
