In 2015, a long-time friend introduced me to cryptocurrency. At first, it sounded strange—like something out of a science fiction movie. But curiosity and a sense of adventure got the better of me. At the time, my book business was struggling, and I was going through serious financial challenges. Yet, with only $11 to my name, I took a leap of faith and invested $5 into crypto.
Truth be told, I lost that first investment. But instead of giving up, I saw the future of cryptocurrencies. It was as if a new identity had been born within me—Mit Phoenix alias Oracle—rising from the ashes of my losses with renewed determination.
I continued investing, but 2016 was another year of losses. Many of us were caught in Ponzi schemes, matrices, and virtual donation programs similar to the infamous MMM. I never joined MMM, though. By the time it came to Nigeria, I already had a deep understanding of crypto and had created a WhatsApp group to educate people and protect them from scams.
For four years, I ran that group as a free advisory service, sharing my research and early recommendations. Coins like Dogecoin, Ripple, NXT, Dimecoin, Cardano, Ethereum Classic, Bitcoin Cash, and Electroneum were some of my earliest picks. Many members made life-changing profits by acting on my advice.
Balancing my role as a public servant with my passion for crypto education wasn’t easy, but my love for people kept me going. From that humble beginning in 2015, I have since built Manoka Island Trade, Kryptowaves, co-founded DigitalWealthPro, and Grassfield Mining Rig.
Today, thousands of people have seen their lives transformed through our crypto recommendations. With a growing team across two countries, we are focused on helping more people turn tiny investments into thousands of dollars—especially at the peak of the next bull run in 2025.
Looking ahead, we aim to grow our community to over 1 million members across Africa. We are also committed to collaborating with governments to create fair regulations for crypto traders and investors. We believe that government agencies should partner with positive actors in the crypto space to foster trust and growth.
Crypto is here to stay. With over 60 million Nigerians already participating in crypto, we have an incredible opportunity to make blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence tools of progress rather than sources of exploitation.
Together, we can build a future where crypto is a blessing to our nation—and Africa as a whole.
