The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) has announced that candidates who registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now print their examination notification slips ahead of the nationwide exercise.

The Board confirmed that the 2026 UTME will commence on Thursday, May 16, 2026, urging candidates to take immediate steps to access and print their slips to avoid last-minute challenges.

2026 UTME Slip Printing Now Open

In a statement signed by the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, candidates were directed to visit the official JAMB portal to print their examination notification slips.

The slip contains vital details, including the candidate’s examination date, time, and assigned centre. These details, according to JAMB, are critical to ensuring a smooth and orderly conduct of the examination nationwide.

Candidates can access their slips via the Board’s website by clicking on the “2026 UTME Slip Printing” link and providing the required registration details.

Candidates Urged to Prepare Early

JAMB stressed the importance of early preparation, advising candidates to print their slips well ahead of their scheduled examination dates. The Board noted that the UTME will be conducted over several days, making it essential for candidates to confirm their individual schedules promptly.

Furthermore, candidates were encouraged to visit and familiarise themselves with their examination centres before the exam day. This step, the Board said, will help reduce confusion, delays, and the risk of arriving late on the day of the examination.

Each candidate has been assigned a specific schedule, which includes reporting time. JAMB emphasised that candidates must arrive early at their centres to allow for proper screening and accreditation before the examination begins.

Enhanced Security Measures Introduced

As part of efforts to strengthen the integrity of the examination process, JAMB disclosed that the 2026 UTME will feature enhanced security measures designed to curb examination malpractice.

The Board issued a stern warning to both candidates and centre operators, cautioning against any form of misconduct. It reiterated that strict sanctions will be imposed on anyone found violating examination rules.

JAMB has, in recent years, intensified its efforts to eliminate malpractice through the deployment of advanced technology and tighter monitoring systems across accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Focus on Credible Examination Process

The Board maintained that its primary goal remains the delivery of a credible, transparent, and fair examination process for all candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

By introducing stricter monitoring and encouraging early preparation, JAMB aims to minimise disruptions and ensure that the examination process runs efficiently across all centres.

Candidates are therefore advised to comply fully with all instructions, adhere to their assigned schedules, and avoid any actions that could jeopardise their chances of success.

Final Advisory to Candidates

As the examination date approaches, JAMB urged candidates to remain vigilant and rely only on official communication channels for updates regarding the UTME.

The Board also reminded candidates that their examination notification slip is a mandatory document required for entry into the examination hall.

With the 2026 UTME set to begin on May 16, all eyes are now on candidates as they prepare for one of Nigeria’s most competitive entrance examinations.
