LASEMA Pulls Down 4 Two-storey Buildings To Avert Future Collapse

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has pulled down four two-storey buildings under construction in Ikoyi for failing integrity test.

Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA Director-General told News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Lagos reasons it pulldown the buildings.

Oke-Osanyintolu said the four buildings under construction at Ikoyi, were in the same compound where a building collapsed on Friday.

“ Solid Material Testing Agency, Lagos State Building Control Agency and the Ministry of Physical Planning conducted the building test

“Solid Material Testing Agency, Lagos State Building Control Agency did the test after LASEMA rescued the four persons.

And recovery of one body in the collapsed building at 4:10 p.m on Friday.  The decision to pull down the buildings is to avert further loss of lives and property,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
