UNILAG Community Denounces the Leadership of Babalakin as Pro-Chancellor

University of Lagos, UNILAG community and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Wednesday declared the Prochancellor of the school, Dr Wale Babalakin a persona non grata.

The university made their stands known after a congress held in the school community. Lecturers, students and indeed the owe UNILAG community demonstrated their vote of no confidence against him in a peaceful protest march.

In the history of UNILAG, lecturers, students had never passed a vote of no confidence on the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council.

Reasons for their grievance may not be unconnected to the postponement of the convocation slated to begin today.

Babalakin had suspension the 51st convocation by writing the Ministry of Education and National Universities Council to put it on hold.

He claimed he was not carried along, hence it must be postponed.
