The Nigerian troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State have recorded another victory, as a notorious Boko Haram senior commander, Amir Adamu Rugu and his family surrendered
It was gathered that Rugu was widely known among the rebels as a deadly commander because his dastardly activities against Nigerian troops over the years speaks volumes.

Rugu had over the years attacked commuters around Mandara hill and Sambisa forest in the Gwoza area.
A resident in Gwoza who spoke with Daily Trust said; “All Praise be to Almighty Allah, the famous Boko Haram, Amir Adamu Rugu Rugu surrendered in today in Gwoza town. Karshen BH yazo insha Allah.”‘
According to the resident, Rugu who had been terrorising the area is well known in the town of Gwoza
