Mighty Women of Valour Programme: Prof. Gloria Akinniyi Calls Women Back to the Heart of God

By DAYO ADESULU

Ojodu, Lagos — Women from different walks of life gathered in Ojodu, Lagos, for a spiritually charged programme titled “Mighty Women of Valour”, where renowned minister and scholar, Professor Gloria Akinniyi, delivered a stirring message calling women to deeper intimacy with God, renewed purpose, and unwavering spiritual strength.

The Mighty Women of Valour programme, which formed part of the ministry’s 25th anniversary activities, was marked by intense worship, heartfelt prayers, soul-searching exhortations, and a powerful call to salvation. From the opening moments, the atmosphere was set for transformation as participants were urged to affirm one another’s divine potential and spiritual identity.

“This is not an ordinary gathering,” Professor Akinniyi declared. “This is a gathering of daughters, intercessors, warriors, and destiny carriers. This is an army rising.”

Worship, Prayer, and a Call to Expectation

The programme opened with praise and worship sessions that drew the congregation into a reflective and reverent mood. Songs of adoration filled the hall as women lifted their voices in unity, declaring their readiness for spiritual renewal and growth.

In her opening prayer, Professor Akinniyi committed the gathering into God’s hands, asking the Holy Spirit to minister personally to every woman present. She prayed for clarity of purpose, divine direction, and lasting spiritual fruit, emphasizing that the meeting was designed to produce transformation, not emotional excitement alone.

Returning to the Heart of God

Delivering the keynote message titled “Mighty Women of Valour: Returning to the Heart of God,” Professor Akinniyi stressed that true valor begins with complete surrender to Jesus Christ. She reminded participants that spiritual strength cannot be separated from salvation and a personal relationship with Christ.

Quoting 2 Corinthians 5:17, she noted that transformation is rooted in new life in Christ, urging women not to rely on religious activity alone but to embrace genuine spiritual rebirth. According to her, a woman cannot fully walk in her divine assignment or carry the mantle of spiritual authority without belonging to Christ.

Salvation Call and New Beginnings

A central moment of the programme came during the salvation call, where Professor Akinniyi extended a gentle but firm invitation to women seeking a fresh start with God. She spoke to those burdened by past failures, emotional wounds, fear, or spiritual distance, reminding them of God’s enduring love and readiness to restore.

Several attendees responded to the call, reciting the prayer of salvation and committing their lives to Christ. New converts were prayed for and encouraged with declarations of forgiveness, rebirth, divine empowerment, and purpose.

“Your journey of valor has begun,” she affirmed, welcoming them into what she described as the family of God and a community of spiritually grounded women.

Vision, Mission, and 25 Years of Impact

Professor Akinniyi also highlighted the vision of the ministry, which she said remains focused on drawing women into deeper, more intimate relationships with God. She explained that the mission is to raise women who are firmly rooted in Christ and intentional about advancing God’s Kingdom through their homes, families, and communities.

Reflecting on 25 years of ministry, she emphasized that the journey has never been about shallow faith or surface-level Christianity but about cultivating a deep hunger for God. She referenced Psalm 42:1 to illustrate the ministry’s desire to raise women who passionately pursue God and find their identity in His presence.

In addition to spiritual growth, she noted that the ministry has consistently demonstrated practical compassion by supporting widows and families in line with biblical principles.

Seven Pillars of a Deeper Walk With God

A key segment of the Mighty Women of Valour programme focused on seven guiding pillars for building a deeper relationship with God. These included knowing God personally, maintaining daily fellowship through prayer and the Word, obedience rooted in love, complete trust in God, growing in Christlikeness, living in God’s presence and peace, and loving God wholeheartedly.

Professor Akinniyi urged women to live lives of integrity, prayer, consistency, and faith, warning against divided loyalties and superficial spirituality. She encouraged participants to model Christ in their relationships, choices, and daily conduct, describing mighty women of valor as prayerful women who trust God completely.

Declarations, Identity, and Hope for the Future

The programme concluded with collective declarations, where women boldly affirmed their identity as mighty women of valor, intercessors, gatekeepers, and carriers of God’s glory. The declarations emphasized victory, divine protection, family alignment, spiritual authority, and unwavering faith.

Drawing from Proverbs 31:25, Professor Akinniyi described the women as clothed in strength and honor, with a future filled with rejoicing. She closed with prophetic declarations over the ministry’s future, praying for deeper roots in Christ, increased hunger for God, strong families, supernatural provision for widows, and sustained impact in the years ahead.

A Charge to Remain Rooted and Radiant

In her final remarks and benediction, Professor Akinniyi thanked participants for their commitment, prayers, and sacrifices over the past 25 years. She charged the women to remain rooted in Christ, fearless in faith, and radiant in purpose, expressing confidence that the next chapter of the ministry would exceed all previous testimonies.

As attendees departed, many described the gathering as timely, refreshing, and deeply impactful, reaffirming the programme’s central message: that women who are anchored in God will continue to rise in strength, honor, and divine influence.
