ISIS Calls for Attacks on Churches, Synagogues in US, Europe Over Al-Aqsa Mosque Closure

By MOHAMMED DANBABA

The terrorist group ISIS has released fresh propaganda urging its followers to carry out attacks on churches and synagogues across the United States, Europe, and several other countries, citing the reported closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as its justification.

The call was published in the latest edition of al-Naba, the group’s weekly propaganda magazine, where ISIS encouraged supporters to target places of worship in what it described as retaliation for events surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

ISIS Issues New Propaganda Message

According to the publication, ISIS urged its followers to attack Jewish places of worship in countries including the United States, Europe, Russia, India, Tunisia, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Syria.

The propaganda claimed that supporters should act against these religious sites, alleging that their locations are already known. The message also referenced previous terrorist incidents, encouraging followers to imitate earlier attacks.

The publication specifically cited the 2025 Hanukkah attack in Sydney, Australia, as an example for its supporters to follow.

Security Concerns Rise

The latest message is expected to heighten security concerns among law enforcement and intelligence agencies in Europe, North America, and other affected regions. Authorities in many countries have maintained heightened vigilance against extremist threats targeting religious institutions and public gatherings.

Security experts have repeatedly warned that ISIS continues to use online propaganda to inspire supporters worldwide, even as the group’s territorial influence has significantly declined in recent years.

At the time of reporting, there were no confirmed reports that the latest propaganda had resulted in any specific or imminent attack. Authorities typically monitor such extremist communications closely and assess any potential threats.

Why This Matters

The renewed propaganda underscores the continued threat posed by extremist organizations seeking to incite violence against civilians and religious communities. Governments and security agencies worldwide continue to encourage the public to remain vigilant while reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
