Akwa Ibom JAMB Coordinator Engages CBT Centre Owners Ahead of 2026 UTME/DE Registration

By DAYO ADESULU

In preparation for the 2026 UTME/Direct Entry (DE) registration exercise, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) State Coordinator for Akwa Ibom, Mrs. Grace Olima-William, met with CBT centre owners in Uyo to reinforce compliance, professionalism, and adherence to the Board’s guidelines.

The briefing session emphasized accuracy, accountability, and integrity as core principles for conducting a seamless registration exercise across the state.

Ensuring Compliance and Accountability

Mrs. Olima-William urged CBT centres to remain vigilant and proactive, ensuring no adverse reports are received during the registration period.

She highlighted that prompt reporting and liaison with other centres and technical groups in the state are essential for resolving any issues that may arise. The Coordinator also reminded attendees that the Board maintains a zero-tolerance policy for negligence or procedural lapses.

Importance of Registration Timelines

Centre owners were advised to register on time for the Group A Zoom Meeting to receive confirmation emails ahead of the exercise.

Mrs. Olima-William emphasized that any candidate registered without being issued a Reading Text would be committing a criminal offence, underlining the legal and ethical responsibility of CBT centres in the registration process.

Issuance of Reading Texts

At the end of the briefing, CBT centre owners signed for and collected the Reading Texts to be distributed to prospective candidates, ensuring that students have the necessary materials for proper preparation.

Commitment to Excellence

The State Coordinator encouraged all centres to strictly comply with Board directives and maintain professionalism throughout the registration period.

CBT centre proprietors pledged full cooperation and commitment to executing a smooth, credible, and error-free registration exercise in Akwa Ibom State.

Preparing for a Seamless Registration Exercise

The session reflects JAMB’s ongoing strategy to ensure integrity, transparency, and uniformity in UTME/DE registration nationwide.

By engaging centre operators directly, the Board aims to prevent infractions, promote best practices, and safeguard the rights and interests of all candidates in the 2026 registration cycle.
