COVID-19 research has shown that there are fourteen ‘high’ alert areas in the United Kingdom where case rates are rising and higher per 100,000 people than the England national average.
The Mirror reports that these COVID-19 infected areas are the South Fourteen Tier 2 areas of England.
The table below ranks the areas by the local authority (county or borough in brackets, followed by the cases per 100,000 people.
Areas already in the highest alert level Tier 3 have been excluded from the ranking.

Areas where cases are above the national average but infection rates are decreasing are also excluded.
The areas below are included because they recorded a weekly case rate per 100,000 people above the England national average of 168.
