Board Shifts Physical Screening Portal Date, Urges Candidates to Await Fresh Announcement

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a sudden shift in the opening of its portal for shortlisted candidates scheduled to begin physical screening and document verification for the 2025 recruitment cycle. The CDCFIB recruitment screening postponement was confirmed in an official statement released late Monday, creating a wave of uncertainty among eager applicants.

The portal, originally billed to open from Monday, December 1 to Wednesday, December 3, will no longer follow the earlier timeline. Instead, the board says it will announce a new date “as soon as possible,” without offering any specific window for candidates to expect the update.

Official Statement Confirms Delay

The postponement was contained in a message signed by the Board Secretary, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) A.M. Jibril, and posted on the CDCFIB’s verified X account. While the board did not disclose the reason behind the CDCFIB recruitment screening postponement, it assured applicants that updated information will be communicated only through the official channels.

Shortlisted applicants were advised to keep checking the recruitment website recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng for fresh details on the revised date.

The board noted:

“Further announcements will be made on the official portal and social media handles.”

It also apologised for any inconvenience the delay may cause, expressing appreciation for the interest shown by thousands of applicants.

A Sudden Delay After Completion of CBT Stage

The CDCFIB had earlier completed the computer-based testing phase in October, following which it announced that shortlisted candidates for physical screening and document verification would be released from December 1. The abrupt change in schedule now means applicants must wait longer for the next stage of the process.

The physical screening phase remains one of the most important parts of the recruitment exercise. It is during this stage that each candidate’s identity, documents, and physical fitness will be scrutinised to ensure only qualified applicants move forward to the final phase of selection.

Recruitment Covers Four Key Paramilitary Agencies

The 2025 recruitment exercise spans four major paramilitary institutions under the Ministry of Interior:

  • Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)

  • Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS)

  • Federal Fire Service (FFS)

  • Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

The board had earlier stated that the physical verification process will determine the authenticity of each applicant’s credentials before final shortlisting.

Applicants Remain on Alert

With the CDCFIB recruitment screening postponement now confirmed, many candidates are expected to keep a close watch on official updates to avoid falling prey to fake links or misinformation often circulated during recruitment periods. The board emphasised that all valid updates will come directly from its website or verified social media accounts.

As applicants wait for the new opening date, the postponement has added a new layer of anticipation to what is already one of Nigeria’s most competitive paramilitary recruitment exercises.
