Alhaji Yusuf Yahaya Abubakar, the abducted District Head of Birnin Gwari, Kaduna has escaped after eight days of incarceration by unknown gunmen.
It was gathered that Abubakar escaped around 5:30 am on Thursday night at Sabon Birni village behind Kaduna international Airport.
Alhaji Abubakar was kidnapped on December 8, 2019 alongside former Education Secretary Ibrahim Musa who was also released few days ago.
Abubakar said: “It was God that saved me from them. I gave thanks to Allah this is all I can say.”
 Our source said that before Abubakar escaped, his family had paid a ransom of N3.5 million. After the N3.5 million was paid, his abductors who wanted more money still kept him captive until he found and escape route on Thursda.
