PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026: AI Experts Set to Headline Landmark PR Industry Event in Lagos

By DAYO ADESULU

LAGOS — The maiden edition of the PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026 will hold in three weeks, bringing together some of the most respected voices in artificial intelligence and strategic communication from Nigeria and across Africa.

The event, organised by the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026. It will take place in a hybrid format at the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, allowing both physical and virtual participation.

Under the leadership of PRCAN President, Nkechi Ali-Balogun, the Knowledge Hub replaces the former PRCAN Masterclass Series and signals what industry stakeholders describe as a strategic shift toward future-focused capacity building.

AI Takes Centre Stage in Strategic Communication

At the heart of the PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026 is a strong focus on artificial intelligence and its growing impact on public relations practice.

Among the headline facilitators is Karl Haechler, Chief Executive Officer of Burson Africa. He will deliver a session titled “AI-Driven Strategic Communication: Mastering Algorithmic Disruption and Digital Volatility.” His presentation is expected to examine how communication professionals can navigate rapid digital shifts while maintaining message clarity and brand stability.

Also speaking is Tomiwa Aladekomo, Chief Executive Officer of TechCabal. His session, “Rewriting the PR Playbook: AI-Driven Storytelling, Media Intelligence & Reputation Management,” will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping storytelling, analytics, and brand perception in a data-driven era.

Industry observers say the choice of speakers reflects a deliberate effort by PRCAN to align Nigeria’s communication sector with global technological trends.

High-Level Moderators and Interactive Sessions

The discussions will be moderated by Mojisola Saka, Chief Engagement and Experience Officer at Booucles Africa, and Ayeni Adekunle, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Black House Media.

Beyond keynote speeches, the PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026 will feature practical workshops, case studies, and live demonstrations of AI-powered tools. Organisers confirmed that participants will gain hands-on exposure to technologies shaping crisis communication, digital monitoring, and content automation.

Key topics include:

AI algorithms in public relations

Managing digital disruption

Crisis communication in volatile online spaces

AI-driven content creation and analytics

Reputation management in the age of misinformation

Deepfake detection and media verification

As digital manipulation and misinformation continue to challenge institutions, the inclusion of deepfake detection and AI ethics signals an industry-wide recognition of emerging risks.

A Strategic Evolution for PRCAN

Speaking ahead of the event, Adetola Odusote, Chairman of the PRCAN Education Sub-Committee, described the Knowledge Hub as a significant milestone.

He explained that the initiative represents an evolution of PRCAN’s long-standing mandate to strengthen professional standards through structured training and knowledge exchange.

According to him, technology continues to redefine how organisations communicate with stakeholders. Therefore, communication professionals must acquire competencies that match the speed and complexity of digital transformation.

He added that the Knowledge Hub aims to empower practitioners, institutions, and policymakers to turn digital disruption into strategic advantage through responsible AI adoption.

Broad Industry Participation Expected

The PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026 is designed for senior and mid-level communication professionals across both public and private sectors.

In addition to PRCAN members, the association has extended invitations to professionals from allied bodies such as the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), and the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN).

Corporate communicators, policy advisers, brand strategists, media executives, and integrated marketing communications professionals are also expected to attend.

Industry analysts believe the strong multi-sector participation could make the PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026 one of the most consequential communication industry gatherings in Nigeria this year.

Why PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026 Matters

The global communication landscape is shifting at unprecedented speed. Algorithms now shape visibility. Data analytics influence strategy. Artificial intelligence determines how messages are crafted, distributed, and monitored.

For Nigerian practitioners, the stakes are particularly high. As digital adoption grows across Africa, organisations must compete in increasingly complex online environments. Consequently, structured professional development platforms such as the PRCAN Knowledge Hub 2026 offer timely intervention.

By focusing on practical tools and strategic foresight, the event positions itself not just as a conference but as a skills accelerator for Nigeria’s evolving communication ecosystem.

With three weeks to go, anticipation continues to build within industry circles.

As PRCAN marks this new chapter, stakeholders will be watching closely to see how effectively the Knowledge Hub shapes the future of public relations practice in Nigeria.
