Terrorists Attack FUT, Minna, Kill One, Kidnap Two

Terrorists have attacked the main campus of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State on Thursday, killing one person and kidnapping two others.

The invasion took place at Gidan-Kwano, the host community of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, main campus. It was gathered that the armed men operated directly opposite the main gate of the university where students who live off-campus, stay.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer that confirmed the incident, however, said that the situation was under control.

He said: “At about 2330hrs, some suspected hoodlums attacked a shop at Gidan-Kwano opposite FUT Gate and abducted two children of the shop owner.

“Police/vigilante were immediately drafted to the scene for aggressive manhunt of the hoodlums and during stop and search, one of the suspects was intercepted and arrested at Barkuta village.”
