Zamfara’s Emir Dies In Isolation While Awaiting COVID-19 Test Result

Alhaji Mohammed Asha, an Emir of Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara State has died on Sunday in isolation while waiting for test result over COVID-19.

Alhaji Mustafa Jafaru Kaura, the Zamfara Publicity Secretary for the Control and Prevention of COVID-19, disclosed this, adding that the deceased had been in isolation at the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau for three days.

He said though his blood sample had been sent to Abuja, Mustafa died while the result was still being awaited.

Jafaru Kaura said the remains of the late Emir were still in the hospital waiting for burial by officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

A family source said: “We really don’t know whether he was killed by the COVID-19 or not. Because up till this morning, we have not received the results.”
