Senator Owele Rochas Okorocha on Thursday said the approval of 3 senators per state was a waste of resources. According to him, there is absolutely nothing three senators do that a senator cannot do. ”One senator from each state is enough, he said.
Okorocha said at the plenary that one senator is enough from each state. He said Government should reduce the number of lawmakers and cut the cost of governance.

Senator Okorocha also said that the number of persons in the house of representatives should be reduced.
Okorocha said: “What (are) three senators doing that one senator cannot do?” “Here, we have three senators per state.
Over there, (house of representatives), we have 360 eligible human beings. This country must begin to make sacrifices and cut down the cost of governance.”
