Obasa had insisted, “We will keep doing our job, keeping doing our oversight function.”
Despite pressure from various sources to have the decision overturned, Speaker of the House Mudashiru Obasa, who oversaw the start of the new week’s session, announced the House’s choice.
According to Obasa, the confirmation came after a thorough and in-depth assessment of the candidates by an ad hoc committee headed by Hon. Fatai Mojeed, the Chief Whip of the House.
The speaker praised the committee’s efficiency and reminded the confirmed nominees to never forget that their first responsibility in their positions is to the State’s citizens, not to themselves.
