Babcock University Launches New School of Pharmacy to Enhance Nigeria’s Health Sector

Babcock University is making significant strides in strengthening Nigeria’s health sector with the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the Dame Caroline Kessington Adebutu (KVW) School of Pharmacy.

President and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, highlighted the importance of this development, noting that it represents a crucial milestone in combating the widespread issue of counterfeit medications in the country.

“This project aims to promote research and innovation in addressing various health challenges faced by our society,” Prof. Tayo stated during the ceremony. He underscored the necessity of maintaining high standards throughout the construction of the six-floor, three-block facility.

Funded by Nigerian philanthropist Chief Kessington Adebutu in memory of his late wife, Mrs. Caroline Oladunni Adebutu (KJV), the school is set to be completed by October this year. Prof. Ezekiel Adeniran, Associate Vice President of Works and Physical Planning, assured attendees that the project will be executed with integrity and a commitment to quality.

Engineer Jide Idowu, CEO of CadTech, also pledged to adhere to timelines and uphold the highest standards during construction. This initiative is in line with Babcock University’s mission to provide top-tier education and training in healthcare, ultimately contributing to the overall improvement of Nigeria’s health sector.
