Bauchi Gets Agriculture, Human Capital Dev’t Boost From Bangladesh

Senior Special Assistant to Bauchi State governor on media, Muktar Gidado has said that government of Bangladesh would support Bauchi State to boost agriculture and human capital development.

 Gidado, in a statement said the Bangladesh high commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Shameem Ahsan disclosed this shortly after a closed door meeting with Governor Bala Mohammed  in Abuja.
He quoted Mr Ahsan as saying that Nigeria and Bangladesh have agreed to collaborate in the areas of Agriculture,  improving food security and nutrition and alleviating poverty through strengthening of the agro-food value chains.

“The Bangladesh high Commissioner to Nigeria  said the commission would assist the state government in training of agricultural extension workers on new farming techniques.

“On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed pledged the readiness of his administration towards providing all the needed requirements to boost farming activities in the state.

“The Governor explained that his agricultural policy document presented to the commission was to enable them to key into the administration’s blueprint aimed at improving agricultural productivity and yields, creation of a food processing facility and promotion of access to markets within and outside the country,” the statement reads.
