Terrorists have on Tuesday invaded the permanent site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, killed two senior officers and kidnapped another one.
It was gathered that the authorities of the NDA are holding emergency meeting over the incident, seeking for ways of rescuing the kidnapped officers alive.
NDA source said: “Bandits in their large number attacked NDA Afaka and kidnapped 1 Offr; Maj Datong while Lt Cdr Wulah and Flt Lt CM Okoronwo were shot dead. 2Lt Onah sustained gunshot injury and currently receiving treatment.”
The source added the terrorists had attempted to gain entrance into the cadets hostels but were repelled and in the process killed the two officers.
Another source also said the the entire surrounding of the Academy has been cordoned off as the military suspect the bandits have not been able to escape from he area.
NDA Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Jajira, said an official statement on the incident will be released shortly.
NDA, the premier military university, that trains officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria and some other African countries, is located on Kaduna-Lagos highway and about 10 kilometers away from the Kaduna city centre.
