Breaking: Tribunal Voids Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri’s Election

The Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

The three-member panel held the election was unlawful due to the exclusion of Action Democratic Party (ADP) and its candidate, King George from the November 16, 2019 governorship election.

The Tribunal held that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC unlawfully excluded the Advance National Democratic Party, ANDP from the November 16, 2019, Bayelsa State Governorship election.

The majority judgment delivered by Justice Yunusa Musa has ordered INEC to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.
