President Muhammadu Buhari has on Monday appealed to governors of the 36 states of the federal to persuade residents of their states to accept the reality of the COVID-19.
He also urged them while speaking via a visual meeting to cooperate with the Presidential Task Force PTF on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.
In a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, the President said the PTF had briefed him on next steps in the national response to the pandemic, “and I have directed that they work very closely with the Governors.”
Buhari said: The pandemic is beyond technology, power, and resources. Countries that have all those, were recording the highest casualties round the world.
“We have to be very careful. We need to continue to educate and persuade the people to accept the reality of the situation, and do all that is necessary to stay safe.”
Adesina said that Buhari also discussed economic and security issues with the Governors.
