EFCC Arraigns Turaki, Three Others Over Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will today arraign former Special Duties Minister, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki and three others before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

In a statement, the EFCC’s Spokesman, Tony Orilade said that Turaki, also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and others, would be arraigned before Justice Inyang Ekwo on a 16-count charge of fraud-related offences.

The charge is marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/61/2020.

Other defendants in the charge are Sampson Okpetu, Samtee Essentials Limited and Pasco Investment Limited.

The statement’s excerpts: “The EFCC will today, Monday, May 4, 2020, arraign the former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN over multi-million fraud.

“He will be arraigned before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High court, sitting in Abuja on a 16 count charge.

“Turaki, SAN, was the Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs from 2013 to 2015. He also served as the Supervising Minister of Labour from 2014 to 2015.

“Others to be arraigned along with the former minister on a 16 count charge are Sampson Okpetu (who served as his Special Assistant),  Samtee Essentials Limited and Pasco Investment Limited (all found out to be Okpetu’s companies).”
