HAP 2.0 set to provide practical skills, mentorship, and business support
Lagos, Nigeria — Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled the second edition of its flagship women‑empowerment initiative, the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 (HAP 2.0), aimed at equipping women with sustainable entrepreneurship skills and practical income-generating opportunities.
The initiative, building on the success of the inaugural 2023 edition, will provide participants with structured apprenticeship training across diverse sectors, including hair styling, shoe making, auto mechatronics, and interior decoration.
Speaking at a media briefing to mark the launch, Osita Ede, Divisional Head, Product Development at Fidelity Bank, said the programme had been enhanced to deliver greater impact.
“HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. Having evaluated feedback from the first edition, we have returned with stronger partnerships and deeper mentorship programmes to ensure that women acquire not just skills, but sustainable economic opportunities,” Ede said.
Practical Learning and Mentorship
The programme combines hands-on training with mentorship from reputable institutions and industry experts. Participants will also benefit from business advisory support, including financial literacy, guidance on business formalisation, and access to Fidelity Bank’s women-focused and SME financial solutions.
“At the heart of HAP 2.0 is guided, real-world learning. We are positioning women not just as trainees, but as future employers, innovators, and economic contributors within their communities,” Ede added.
The bank emphasised that integrating mentorship with entrepreneurial development aligns with its broader mandate to help individuals grow, businesses thrive, and local economies prosper.
